Welcome to the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park The southern portion of the Sallandse Heuvelrug (heuvelrug meaning ‘ridge’) is located south of the N35 motorway, roughly between Nijverdal and Holten, and is designated a national park. The reason for the designation is that this area is of natural value and therefore deserving of protection. Its designation as a national park means that the area can be more effectively protected and the relationship between the different sections of the park can be strengthened in coming years.
